This is me, Laura Reddy 23 years young (always the optimist), a full time marketing student at Carlow Institute of Technology. To fund myself I work part time as a receptionist in Killashee Leisure Centre and am lucky enough to say I love my job.
Previous to studying marketing I studied dancing and was a self proclaimed dance-a-holic.My change in studies was due to an injury, but until then I lived and breathed dance. Ballroom and Latin were my main focus for 16 years. In dance college I studied Ballet, Latin, Jazz, contemporary and tap. I found that dance was my way of getting away from the world and my way of expressing myself. I was lucky enough to get to pass on my love of Ballroom and Latin dance through teaching, working with children from the ages as young as 4 to adults up to the age of 60.
Although I haven’t been able to dance to the same extent as I previously did, I still have a huge passion for it and on occasion find myself in a dance studio letting off some steam!
I also find that I have inherited the ‘travel bug’. I took off on my first major travel adventure at the age of 19. My best friend and I went to Australia for 3 months for the most amazing adventure of my life. Since then I have realised how big this world really is. I have since done 3 months working in America and done a months travelling in Canada. Always planning my next trip while crying on the plane on my way home.
My future hopes and aspirations are to get a job that I love in the marketing industry.
